Armed with high-profile co-signs and a fast-talking flow, South Carolina’s NGeeYL has a pathological aversion to cap. Confronting unworthy opponents with unlimited energy, the Spartanburg native shares “We Da 1s,” his brand-new single. Bounding atop chaotic 808s, crunk-style synth brass, and horror film whistles, NGee puts his athletic flow on display. The Lil Uzi Vert-co-signed rapper takes dead aim at the opps with brash bravado, while leaving some space for the paranoia to seep through: “N**** act like they your friends/Then they stab you in the end/Fck that, why you think I’m riding with this F&N /Why they call you lizard bt*ch cause I be blendin in,” he spits. “We Da 1s” is the latest offering from SSETELIAN, NGee’s forthcoming debut album, released this year via 300 Ent.
“We Da 1s” is NGeeYL’s first new single of 2023, continuing his run as your favorite trapper’s favorite rapper. He first started buzzing in 2019, building a following in the South and attracting praise from the likes of 21 Savage, Playboi Carti, and Young Nudy. He made his most impactful connection after releasing his mixtape Hiatus, catching the attention of Lil Uzi Vert, who called NGee his “favorite rapper.” NGee and Uzi have been close ever since, with the superstar rapper making appearances in NGee’s music videos (including the recent video for the F1LTHY-produced “Showtime”), and collaborating with him on the fiery single “Off-White” (11.5 million total streams). The two rappers’ fruitful creative partnership continues this year with the upcoming SSETELIAN, executive produced by Lil Uzi Vert himself. With powerful friends and an even-more-powerful presence behind the mic, NGeeYL is well on his way to a breakout year. Stay tuned for SSETELIAN, and more money moves to come.
